Just like millions of other users before us, Claro has bravely taken the plunge and created a YouTube channel. We’ve been working away quietly behind the scenes planning and organising this for the last while, and now we’re excited to unleash our efforts onto the world wide web. It’s an exciting venture and we hope you can join us on the journey. Read on to find out more – including how you can get involved.
Why is Claro on YouTube?
YouTube is a weird and wonderful place, with accounts devoted to all manner of things like how to perfect the art of tying shoelaces and the best way to build a treehouse from scratch. There’s even an account allowing you to put a mortician in the hot seat. We reckon there’s a sizeable gap for empowering people to make smarter financial decisions every day, so that’s precisely what we’re planning to do with our videos. Plus, it can’t hurt to have a little fun along the way.
Videos allow us to showcase what we do at Claro, while adding some personality along the way. While a written article can be informative (we hope) and a social post can get to the point very quickly, a video allows us to add a bit more excitement and colour to what we’re doing. Also, they’re entertaining (again, we hope). By talking to real people about their financial views and habits, we can all learn a bit more about what financial coaching needs to address, and what it’s getting right. Viewers can get some tips along the way, and hopefully find comfort in knowing that they’re not alone with their financial wins and woes.
What’s going to be on the YouTube channel?
We’re not limiting ourselves just yet – anything goes. Whether it’s demystifying financial terminology with one of our lovely coaches, or a rousing game of Truth or Save (like truth or dare, except you have to add to the other person’s savings if you refuse to divulge), you’ll find it all on our page. Here’s what we’ve got in the works so far:
Couples bravely take our quiz to find out how well they know their other half’s approach to finances. Will they agree on who’s more likely to pay a ransom note, or who’s the worst at saving? You’ll have to watch and see! One thing we can guarantee is a colourful follow-up conversation on the journey home.
Parent and child duos ask each other a series of revealing questions about their spending and saving habits. Would you dare tell your parents the most you’ve ever spent on a night out? How likely are they to guess the right amount? It’s an eye-opening experience for all involved (and makes for great viewing).
Millennials are asked about their opinions on a wide range of financial matters like credit cards and buying vs renting, but little do they know, our financial coach and finance expert Mike is listening in next door. He gives a very honest reaction to their views (which are sometimes a little alarming), adding some helpful tips and explanations along the way.
Pairs of friends and family members play our version of Truth Or Dare. Exactly as the name suggests, they’re asked a provoking question about their finances and must either give a truthful answer or add some money to the other person’s savings. Naturally, it’s a tough decision for most. Plus, there’s £10 at stake for every question they don’t want to answer, which makes it an even more risky affair.
When will you be uploading?
At the moment, every second Friday you’ll see a brand new video on our YouTube channel. The best way to make sure you never miss an upload is to subscribe and turn on the notifications. That way, you’ll see the latest upload as soon as it’s live. Don’t forget to give the video a thumbs-up if you like it, and leave a comment with your thoughts and questions, which we’ll be answering every day. If you’ve got any suggestions for future videos, drop a comment and we’ll get our producer hats on.
How can I get involved?
We’re always on the lookout for people to take part in our videos. So long as you’re over 18, okay with talking about money and happy to potentially reach the dizzying heights of fame and worldwide recognition that come with being on the Claro Money YouTube channel, we’d love to hear from you. Just fill in this form and we’ll be in touch to arrange a chat.
Where can I find Claro’s YouTube channel?
Great question. If you search ‘Claro Money’ on YouTube, or alternatively click this link, you’ll find us. We’ve already got some great videos ready and waiting for you to watch them (if we do say so ourselves), so be sure to check them out.
What’s next for Claro?
Another great question. We’re excited to see where YouTube takes us, and what we can learn along the way. Our main aim will always be to empower people to make smarter financial decisions every day. If an entertaining and potentially wacky YouTube video can achieve that, we’re on the right track to achieving our goal. In terms of other platforms, we’re on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, and turning our efforts towards Tik Tok very soon – so watch this space!Tags: youtube
