If you don’t have it all figured out when it comes to your money, that’s okay. 39% of UK adults don’t feel confident managing their money and 9 million of us are in serious debt. But the good news is, it’s never too late to turn things around. Find out how a UK Financial Coach could help you – whatever your situation.

Seeking help isn’t embarrassing – it’s empowering

The first thing to remember is that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Convincing yourself you can take care of things yourself is likely to either slow down your progress or prevent you from taking any action at all. The more you put it off, the more likely it is to create long-term problems down the line.

You’re not the only one struggling. In fact, the covid pandemic has put 1 in 4 adults at financial risk. And just think of all the other people who aren’t brave enough to admit they need help. Put your pride to one side and think of the benefits asking for help could bring.

Financial coaching could be the answer

Financial coaching is still a relatively new term. The objective is to inform and empower you to make smart financial decisions. Knowledge is power, so having a solid understanding of how to manage your money can set you on the path to a brighter future.

Claro’s in-house Financial Coaches can help you to clarify your goals, find relevant information and explore some of the options available to you. With decades of experience between them, our coaches will never question your decisions or cast judgment – there’s no such thing as a stupid question!

If you’re thinking about reaching out to a Financial Coach, it’s good to have a rough idea of what you would like help with. For example:

  • Achieving a life goal (such as buying a house)
  • Sticking to a budget
  • Finding the best interest rate for your savings
  • Learning how to invest to grow your money

Remember, a Financial Coach isn’t the same as a Financial Adviser. Financial Advisers typically only work with people who have large sums of money to invest. Whereas Financial Coaches help a wide variety of people, regardless of how much they have to invest or where they are in their financial journey.

Just to be clear, a Financial Coach won’t:

  1. Recommend specific investing products
  2. Tell you which banks or financial platforms to use

How to seek help from a Financial Coach

With Claro, you can arrange one-to-one financial coaching from the comfort of your own home. Just one 45 minute session could give you the direction you need to take control of your finances for good. And at the end, you’ll have the chance to ask any burning questions that are on your mind.

Booking your personalised session is simple. Start by downloading the Claro app and creating an account. Once you’ve done that, head to the ‘Planning’ tab and tap ‘Book a session’. Then simply choose a day and time that works for you. That’s it!

After your session, your coach will add a list of everything you discussed into the app, along with some actions for you to get started on. You can track your progress in the app and request a follow-up session if you’d like some more help.
